Many of you may wonder how I came across the idea of Lacey. I must say, if Ms. Glenn hadn't made German class so boring, Lacey would have never been created. It would never been created also because of the fact that I am and know German.
I was sitting in class one day, bored out of my mind. Thankfully I had one of my best friends, Jessica, with me so I could pass notes with her. After awhile, we ran out of things to talk about and I started to doodle on a piece of paper. I drew a girl, in a simple, yet stylish dress. (and, fyi, i can't draw to save my life)
I asked Jessica what I should name her, but she was to busy passing notes with another friend, Nikki, because I had started to draw and ignore her, to answer. So I sat back and thought for awhile. I wanted to choose a name with the letter "L" because my name begins with L.
I thought of every name from Lea to Leslie, but I didn't like not one of them. Finally, after about a good five minutes I thought of Lacey and decided I wanted to write a story about her. I started right there in class and wrote a prolouge for the story, which I will put online as soon as I get my stuff in the states.
At home, I wrote the first chapter of Lacey and let my friends read it. They loved it, so I wrote more. After awhile, I started writing off and on, then stopped altogether. Earlier this year, I started to write again, trying to finish.
And Lacey doesn't live happily ever after... |
